AN UPDATE I SHOULD NOT GIVE
The Americas (excluding Brazil)
The wayward MSC Barbara is supposed to dock today at Jacksonville. How foolish am I to predict its arrival. The crew must feel as if they are aboard the Terror:
...but I don't think there is anything left on the ship except their Jacksonville cargo, so I will risk this encouraging note.
Europe
The EVER ARIA has delivered its cargo at Felixstowe and is now in Hamburg. Spiral Galaxy has us in the queue, and I am hopeful we get movement next week.
Which means...well, could it be?
We may have a fulfillment on our hands!
Addresses Locked
Addresses are completely, thoroughly, and totally locked. Sealed like spent plutonium fuel. If you find yourself panicking at this, there is a last resort. Both Quartermaster Logistics (US) and Spiral Galaxy (Europe) will send out emails confirming your address, at which time you can respond with a new address (note, I don't have visibility to this process, so you will have to deal directly with them on this).

Brazil is a special situation, and I have corresponded with several Brazilian backers. Due to significant difficulties with past shipments, I chose to batch my games/coins with a container being shipped out of China that reliably delivers to Brazil. Games are aboard, but the container doesn't leave until full. You will receive shipping notices when it leaves China, but this will not be speedy.
IRONCLAD PLEDGE: If there is an address malfunction or some other mischief, and your game does not arrive, never worry. My job is not complete until all 7,805 of you have your pledge, and by jove, you will have it. I am armed with thousands of Characters and Coins here at my office (waiting for retail after all your patient folks get your games), so no one will miss out.
A big update is coming in the next few days.

Americas and Europe Fulfillment Update

Risks
At the bottom of every Kickstarter page, we are obligated to mention that there are risks facing every project. Of course, we proudly list our past successful projects as evidence that this one is in good hands. We beat our chest—we're up to the challenge!
Humility comes in the form of two hurricanes sandwiched around a port strike followed by a captain giving up on delivery. Risk TV in 2024 is watching our ships run from canals, pirates, storms, labour disputes, and port congestion. Next time I will air freight the 35,000 pounds (16,000kg) of games to...well, maybe not.
Americas and Europe Fulfillment Update
EVER ARIA: All of Europe, excluding the Russian Federation. After a long trip around the Cape of Good Hope, the ship has finally offloaded its gaming cargo at Felixstowe, ten days behind schedule. The logistics are still daunting. From Spiral Galaxy: "It looks like it’ll be closer to November before your orders start shipping."
MSC BARBARA: US, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico. The BARBARA survived two hurricanes and a port strike, and I was given a Jacksonville delivery date of 10/11 delivery date. Buuuuut, the captain chose to avoid the port congestion at Jacksonville and run up to Wilmington and New York first, returning to Jacksonville on 10/20. This would put fulfillment on the same timeline as Europe.

(Obviously, I do not want to make light of tragic hurricanes and their devastating impact. Having personally lived through Hurricane Gilbert {category 5} while on my honeymoon in Cancun in 1988 {evacuated inland and abandoned, hunkering with local families in a collapsed building, hiking miles looking for a way back to civilization. being hit by a bus, etc.}, I have seen and experienced the devastation, and my heart, prayers, and financial support goes out to my family in Asheville and all those affected.)

US Port Strike Ends with Contract Extension

Port Strike Suspended
Great news. For those US backers on pins and needles, we are back on track. I expect that the 3 day freeze will take a while to untangle and catch up, but this is a splendid outcome.
For European backers, the EVER ARIA is off the coast of Morocco and steaming towards Derbyshire.

Fulfillment Update
The first report of a pledge received was in Hong Kong on 9/17. Australia backers are currently receiving their pledges.
Elsewhere:
SHIPPING FROM CHINA—Pledges are currently being moved to fulfillment hubs for the Middle East, Indonesia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam, and South Africa. Other pledges are shipped directly from VFI. I do not have information on lead times as of this time.
Next, not fun with freighters.
EVER ARIA: All of Europe, excluding the Russian Federation. The ship is currently along the West African coast. Due to arrive in the UK the second week of October.
MSC BARBARA: US, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico. The boat is docked in Savannah, but our final port is actually Jacksonville. The bad news is that a port strike is planned for tomorrow (1 October). We were so close to beating this deadline. Here's hoping the strike is avoided at the 12th hour or is a short one. I will keep you apprised.

SAILING SCHEDULES
First, a land shipment...
No Boat—SHIPPING FROM CHINA (Games and coins in hand, but there are some tricky geographies in this batch; I do not have information on lead times, but fulfillment will start soon, perhaps five weeks ahead of North America and Europe): Arab Emirates, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Viet Nam, and South Africa.
Next, fun with freighters.
COSCO SINGAPORE: Australia and New Zealand. Due to arrive in Australia on September 11.
EVER ARIA: All of Europe, excluding the Russian Federation. Due to arrive in the UK on October 6.
MSC BARBARA: US, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico. Due to arrive in the US on October 1.
So we made a 'deal' we made during the Kickstarter to allow me the time to polish the cooperative mode, which was that I would miss my August fulfillment target by a month. This looks to be pretty close to the mark (I expect that we will see some shipments from China starting next week). In July, I was expecting to see the Americas and Europe start fulfillment in September, but an ugly shipping scene (with skyrocketing prices) will end up delaying things by about 3 weeks, I think.
